Quick calculations

Pupils answer a set of short sums, each with its own answer box.

Marked automaticallyOn paper: a picture you mark

Good for

Times tables, number bonds, unit conversions and other quick number facts.

Each sum is marked against your answer and scores one mark. 0.5 and 1/2 both count.

How to set it up

  1. 1In the lesson editor, choose Add slide and pick Quick calculations.
  2. 2Choose an operation, two number ranges and how many sums, then press Make the questions. Or type each sum and its answer.
  3. 3Change any sum you like, and add units if every answer has them.
  4. 4Preview it as a pupil, then run the Readiness check before you launch: it flags anything still missing.

Tips from the classroom

  • Press Make new questions for a fresh set each lesson.
  • On paper the sums are numbered, so a scanned sheet is marked line by line.
