Students joining classes and lessons

Signing in

Go to classfolio.co.uk and sign in with the Google or Microsoft account your school provided. If your school uses Google Workspace, click Sign in with Google. If your school uses Microsoft 365, click Sign in with Microsoft.

You do not need to create a separate Classfolio account — your school account is all you need.

Joining a class

Your teacher will give you a class join code at the start of the year or when you join a new class. You only need to do this once per class.

  1. Sign in to Classfolio.
  2. On your student dashboard, click Join a class.
  3. Enter the class join code your teacher gave you.
  4. The class will appear on your dashboard. You are now enrolled.

After joining, your responses in lessons, assessments, and assignments will automatically link to your Student Folio for that class.

Joining a live lesson

When your teacher starts a live lesson, they will display a 5-letter session code on screen (for example, MAPLE).

  1. Go to classfolio.co.uk (you must be signed in).
  2. Enter the 5-letter session code in the box on the homepage.
  3. Click Join.
  4. You will see the current slide on your screen. Wait for your teacher to open each activity before responding.

Your responses are sent to your teacher in real time. They are also saved automatically to your Student Folio — you do not need to submit anything at the end.

Completing an assignment

Assignments are set by your teacher for homework, revision, or cover work. You complete them at your own pace before the deadline.

  1. Sign in and go to your student dashboard.
  2. Open Assignments — any active assignments will appear here.
  3. Click an assignment to start. Work through each task in order.
  4. Your answers are saved automatically — you can close and return later before the deadline.
  5. When finished, mark it as complete.

You will receive instant feedback on most question types as you go. Some answers (extended responses) are reviewed by your teacher before marks are released.

Viewing your scores and feedback

After your teacher releases results for a lesson, assessment, or assignment, you can view your score and any feedback from your student dashboard.

  • Go to your Student Folio for the relevant class.
  • Each session, assessment, and assignment you have completed appears in your folio.
  • Click any entry to see your score, the correct answers, and any feedback your teacher has left.

Results are only visible once your teacher has released them — if you cannot see a score yet, it may still be under review.

Troubleshooting

  • Session code not working — double-check the code with your teacher. Codes expire when the session ends.
  • Not seeing your class — make sure you have signed in with the correct school account and entered the class join code.
  • Assignment deadline passed — contact your teacher directly; they can re-open an assignment if needed.
