Getting started

For teachers

Classfolio is an interactive classroom platform for teachers. You use it to plan lessons, run live interactive sessions with your students, set assignments, and track progress in Student Folios.

Step 1 — Sign in and request access

Go to classfolio.co.uk and click Teacher login. Sign in with your school Google or Microsoft account. If your account does not yet have teacher access, you will see a request form — fill it in and your school admin will approve it.

Step 2 — Create your first class

From your teacher dashboard, go to Classesand create a new class. Give it a name (e.g. "Year 10 Biology"), and Classfolio will generate a unique class join code. Share this code with your students — they only need to join once.

Step 3 — Build a lesson

Go to Lessons and create a new lesson. Use the slide builder to add questions, activities, and explanations. You can also use the AI lesson creator — enter a topic and Classfolio will generate a full lesson for you to review and edit.

Step 4 — Go live

Open a lesson and click Launch session. Select your class and go live. Students join using the 5-letter session code shown on your teacher screen. Responses appear in real time as you advance through slides.

For students

Students join Classfolio through their teacher. You do not need to create an account separately — sign in with your school Google or Microsoft account, and your teacher will add you to the right class.

Step 1 — Sign in

Go to classfolio.co.uk and sign in with your school Google or Microsoft account.

Step 2 — Join your class

Your teacher will give you a class join code. Enter it on your student dashboard under Join a class. You only need to do this once per class — after that the class appears in your dashboard automatically.

Step 3 — Join a lesson

When your teacher starts a live lesson, they will display a 5-letter session code. Enter it on the homepage or your student dashboard to join. Your responses are sent directly to your teacher and saved to your Student Folio.

Admin approvals

School administrators can approve teacher access requests from the admin dashboard. An admin account requires role: admin and approved: true in the user record.
