Is there a free trial?

Yes — every new account starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required. It includes lesson, assessment and assignment creation, live sessions, AI generation, AI marking and AI image generation. The planner, analytics and data export come with a paid plan. After your trial, choose the plan that works for you.

Can I switch plans at any time?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. If you upgrade mid-year, we'll pro-rate the cost. Contact us if you need help.

Do students pay anything?

No. Students join lessons using a class or lesson code — no cost, no separate accounts. They sign in with their existing school Google or Microsoft account.

How does AI marking work?

Open-ended responses are marked automatically against your model answer the moment a student submits. You review all marks and can override any individual mark before releasing results.

What's the difference between individual and school plans?

School plans include the same classroom features, plus a school admin dashboard, shared libraries, school-level analytics, and staff training tools — all under a single per-school licence.

Can my school become a Founding School?

Yes, while places remain. The programme is limited to the first ten schools and closes on 31 December 2026. Founding Schools receive School Professional features, a founding rate held for as long as the subscription keeps renewing, and direct access to the founder during rollout. Apply online and we will quote against your staff numbers.

What are AI-Led Lessons, and why are they priced separately?

An AI teacher delivers a lesson you wrote — speaking your material, asking your questions and marking the answers — for pupils who cannot be in the room. It is priced separately because it costs far more to run than everything else on the platform: a single AI-delivered lesson uses around thirty times the AI of marking a class set of answers, most of it speech. You buy lessons rather than per-pupil places, so a school pays for what it actually uses — whether that is one pupil at home for a term or an isolation unit seeing a different child every day.

Does an AI-Led Lesson replace the teacher?

No. A teacher writes the lesson, chooses which pupils can use it, and stays responsible for them throughout. Anything that needs a person — a safeguarding concern, a question the AI will not answer — is passed to a named teacher rather than handled by the model. Pupils' work is saved to their folio and can be reviewed and re-marked like any other work.

Is student data safe?

Yes. Classfolio stores all data on Google Cloud in the UK (europe-west2), with security rules ensuring students can only access their own data. See our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

Is multilingual support included, or is it a paid add-on?

Multilingual translation and Read Aloud are included on every plan, including Lite. Teachers create content once in English; students learning in an additional language can switch to their home language, with no extra cost per language.

Our pupils have no email addresses. Can we still use Classfolio?

Yes. Add your class as a list of names and teach from the board — cold call, random groups, understanding checkpoints and the post-lesson analysis all work without a single pupil account. Add email addresses later if pupils get them, and their work links to the same register.
