Common questions
How do I get started as a teacher?
Sign in with Google or Microsoft and request teacher access. Once approved by your school admin, you have full access. The free tier lets you start immediately.
Do students pay anything?
No. Students join lessons using a class or lesson code — there is no cost and no account creation required beyond signing in with their school Google or Microsoft account.
Is there a limit on students per class?
Class sizes are not artificially limited. Classfolio is designed to work at full class scale — typically 20–35 students responding live in a single session.
How does AI marking work?
Open-ended responses (short answer, extended response, fill-the-gaps) are marked automatically against your model answer. You review all marks and can override before releasing results to students.
Is student data safe?
Yes. Classfolio stores data on Google Cloud (EU region), with Firestore security rules ensuring students can only access their own data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
