A Frayer model for photosynthesis, with four boxes to complete

Good for

Securing tier-3 vocabulary. The non-examples box is where misconceptions show.

How to set it up

  1. 1In the lesson editor, choose Add slide and pick Interactive activity, then choose Frayer model.
  2. 2Write the key term in the centre.
  3. 3Rename the four boxes if your school words them differently, and add a model answer for each if you want them marked.
  4. 4Preview it as a pupil, then run the Readiness check before you launch: it flags anything still missing.

Tips from the classroom

  • Don't skip the non-examples box: it is where misconceptions show.
  • Use one Frayer for each new tier-3 word in a topic.
