Getting every pupil thinking before anyone answers aloud.

How to set it up

  1. 1In the lesson editor, choose Add slide and pick Oracy activity, then choose Think-Pair-Share.
  2. 2Write the question, and add sentence stems and vocabulary to support the talk.
  3. 3Set the time for each stage.
  4. 4Preview it as a pupil, then run the Readiness check before you launch: it flags anything still missing.

Tips from the classroom

  • Give real silent thinking time before the pairs talk.
  • Choose who shares, rather than asking for hands up.
