How to set it up

  1. 1Open the assessment in the editor and choose Add question.
  2. 2Pick Short answer.
  3. 3Write the question and set the marks.
  4. 4Choose how it is marked: an exact answer with alternatives, AI with your mark scheme, or by you.
  5. 5Open Practice Preview to answer it as a pupil would, then run the readiness check before you set it.

Tips from the classroom

  • For a one-word answer, use the exact answer: small spelling slips are forgiven unless you turn that off.
  • For an explanation, write a mark scheme with one point per mark: the AI marks against exactly what you write.
