Exam practice in a Topic Hub
What does this do?
An exam practice block is an exam-style question pupils answer on the hub and get marked by AI straight away, with a short tip and the points they earned or missed. You write the mark scheme, the accepted points and a model answer; pupils never see them, and they only see the model answer after they have been marked.
When should I use it?
Use it to let pupils practise exam technique on their own between lessons, with instant feedback you do not have to mark.

How do I use it?
- 1In the Topic Hub editor, choose Add a block and then Exam practice
- 2Write the question, set the marks, and fill in the mark scheme, accepted points and model answer
- 3For a question such as "explain two ways", say what earns the point and what earns the development mark
- 4Pin the hub — pupils answer and choose Mark my answer
- 5See every pupil's marks on the hub's Results page
Common mistakes
- Leaving the mark scheme empty — the AI then marks on its own judgement, which is less reliable
- Expecting to test it as a teacher — marking is only for pupils in the class; the preview shows the question only
- Forgetting that AI marking comes from your plan — it needs a plan that includes AI marking
