Use this to build or edit an assessment. Set question types, correct answers, marks, and marking mode (AI-powered or deterministic) before deploying to a class.

How do I use it?

1. 1Create a new assessment or open an existing one
2. 2Add questions via the question type picker
3. 3Set the prompt, options, correct answer, and mark allocation
4. 4Choose the marking mode — AI for written responses, deterministic for MCQ/fill-gaps
5. 5Generate an AI mark scheme for short-answer and extended-response questions
6. 6Reorder questions using drag handles
7. 7Run the Readiness check and fix any issues
8. 8Preview as a student before deploying

Common mistakes

• Deploying without AI mark schemes on written questions — students receive no feedback
• The readiness check blocks deployment if questions are missing answers — fix these first
• Image uploads that fail silently — check for error toast messages
