Classes
Sharing a class with another teacher
What does this do?
Share a class with a colleague by their email address as a co-teacher or a viewer. A co-teacher can set lessons, assessments and assignments to the class, sees everything set to it by either of you, can run the class space and approve name changes. A viewer can look but not act — the right choice for a head of department or an observer.
When should I use it?
Use it for classes taught by two teachers, job shares, trainee teachers working with a mentor, or a colleague covering a class for a while.

How do I use it?
- 1Open Classes and choose the class — only the class owner can share it
- 2Under Shared teachers, enter your colleague's school email address
- 3Choose Co-teacher or Viewer, then Share class
- 4Your colleague sees the class in their own Classes list the next time they sign in
Common mistakes
- Using a personal email address — the share is matched to the email your colleague signs in with
- Giving a head of department co-teacher access when they only need to see — use viewer
- Expecting a co-teacher to edit your lessons — they can see and set to the class, but your lessons stay yours
