Platform Admin: Trusts (MATs)

What does this do?

The platform owner's page for creating multi-academy trusts, assigning schools to them, and inviting trust leads. This is the Classfolio admin panel, not the dashboard a trust lead uses — see "Trust Lead Portal" for that.

When should I use it?

Use this when onboarding a trust: create the MAT, assign its schools, then invite the trust lead. Also where you suspend a MAT or set its trust-wide AI image position.

How do I use it?

1. 1Admin → MATs shows every trust with its school count
2. 2+ New MAT creates one; the ID is derived from the name
3. 3Open a MAT to add existing schools, or create a new school inside it
4. 4Set the trust-wide AI image generation position — a trust veto overrides what its schools choose
5. 5+ Invite MAT Lead sends an email and shows a copyable join link that expires in 7 days
6. 6The lead is assigned role mat-admin on acceptance, with access to every school in the MAT

Common mistakes

• Assigning schools AFTER inviting the lead — the lead sees an empty school switcher until at least one school is assigned
• Confusing this with the trust lead's own dashboard: that lives at Teacher → School Admin → Trust analytics, not here
• A trust veto on AI images silently overrides each school's own setting — leaving no position lets schools decide
